Awareness Workshops on Climate Change
The every enlightened citizen of the Global World has become conscious about adverse impact of the Global Warming. Some of the developed countries are trying to tackle this issue more vigorously depending upon the resources available with them. Government of India has also prepared a special policy to tackle this issue at various levels. The Planning Commission of Government of India has sanctioned a project to appraise young generation (Students) about the role of agriculture in mitigation of adverse impact of Climate Change (Global Warming). Two-days National Level Workshop about “Mainstreaming Agriculture for Climate Change Mitigation and adaptation to tackle local level impacts of Climate change” was organized in collaboration with Anand Agricultural University, wherein 375 students and scientists have participated and deliberated in the discussions.
Similarly the Ministry of Environment of Forests has also sanctioned a project to organize 1 day State Level Workshop on “Community Centered Integrated Leadership to tackle local level impacts of Climate Change” at Vapi, wherein 200 students and teachers have participated in the deliberations. The outcome of both the workshop is submitted to the respective departments for their ready reference.
The institution is trying to emphasize that an agriculture can play a vital role in emission of CO2 from the environment through it’s photosynthesize process. A comprehensive presentation was made to the Hon’ble Union Minister, Agriculture and Cooperation, Government of India – Shri Sharad Pawar emphasizing that agriculture must be given top priority in tackling adverse impact of Climate Change (Global Warming).
