Dr. D. M. Pestonjee

Dr. D. M. Pestonjee, a psychologist by training, has over four decades of teaching experience. He served the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad for over two decades (1979-2001) as professor of Organizational Behavior. A temporary Advisor to International organizations like WHO, USAID and OXFAM, he also represented Management Science OXFAM, he also represented Management Science in International Social Science Council of the UNESCO for three terms. He has also served on several national bodes like the ICSSR, AICTE< ICMR and UGC. He has been active as a trainer and consultant in non-business sectors like education and health and is associated with a plethora of organizations viz. the MNCs, public and private sector organizations, joint sector organization and NGOs.
He obtained his M.A. in Psychology with first class first and Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology. He was conferred the title of Honorary professor of the Albert Schweitzer International University , Geneva in the year 2000, D.Litt. (Honoris Causa) by the Banaras Hindu University in 2003 and awarded the prestigious Albert Schweitzer Medal for Science and Peace in 2004. He has supervised eighteen Ph.D. candidates. He has authored/co-authored over 100 research articles and ten books, which include the celebrated “Stress and coping – The Indian Experience’ 1991, 1999)
